We are looking for 1-2 candidates to join the Codex’s research & bioinformatics group to design genomic data visualization tools and interface. Big data analytics and visualization are quintessential parts in all genomic studies, and this position offers an excellent opportunity for the candidate that are interested in bridging their career gap between computer science and medicine.

This individual will be responsible for the software development of projects collaborating with hospitals, research institutes and pharmaceutical companies to develop machine-learning based bioinformatics algorithms and data visualization approaches.

Job Duties:

• Assist the development of visualization algorithms / tools for personalize genomic sequencing results
• Web-development using Django and/or Node.js
• Develop interactive web interface using HTML5, CSS, React.js, Plotly.js and/or D3.js
• Database development and management
• Present data and analytical results to the team and other senior researchers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field is required
• Auto-pilot or can work towards a goal with minimal guidance
• Have a focus on high-quality and best practices in coding
• Expertise in at least two of the following programming languages - JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Java, or Perl
• Experience in web development/design is a plus Experience with cloud computing platform such as Amazon AWS
• Strong written and oral skills, fluent in both English & Chinese
