Core Responsibilities:

• Identify problems, establish quality standards, and develop and execute continuous improvement programs from raw materials and subsidiary materials to finished products.
• Source, develop and analyze new chemical materials.
• Compile and update product specifications, MSDS, and quality manual.
• Obtain certifications by meeting the regulatory and quality requirements.
• Leading team members to exceed key performance index.
• Develop and maintain relationship with customers, suppliers and 3rd party laboratories regarding quality standards.

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Well-versed in the use of chemical substances in related industries.
• Relevant experience in candle industry or certified laboratory is an asset.
• Knowledgeable in U.S. and European product quality and safety standards, e.g. REACH, CLP, WERCS, ROHS, TPCH, WEEE, CAS, RSS, SVHC, CA PROP 65, Battery Regulations, etc.
• Good command of spoken and written Cantonese, English and Mandarin
• Half day work on Saturdays.
• Office in Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen.  3 minutes of walk from MTR.
• 2-3 days of work in Dongguan China weekly
• Occasional travel to Vietnam and Northern China.
