Job Description

Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Actively sourcing new vendors on roto-moulded/injection moulded/blow-moulded dolls, doll outfits and accessories, stuffed toys and plastic toys, etc.
  2. Continuously exploring and proposing new products in line with category and Addo requirements.
  3. Attending trade fairs & conducting factory visits for potential new vendors.
    1. Initial vendor screening & short listing.
  4. Managing the RFQ process with vendors.
    1. Preparing RFQ / Briefing vendors.
    2. Acquiring samples and BoM’s.
    3. Evaluating quotes.
    4. Confirming vendor specifications.
  5. Negotiating vendor agreements / confirming agreement details.
  6. Project managing vendors to deliver product and packaging development to agreed milestones.
    1. Anticipating and averting potential development problems.
    2. Communicating and mitigating product development delays.
  7. Co-ordinating the timely delivery of samples for product approval, inspection, marketing and other events as required.
  8. Conducting vendor reviews with Product Managers aimed at building a reliable and committed vendor base.
    1. Maintaining strong working relationships.
    2. Advising / educating suppliers about Addo working procedures.
  9. Maintaining accurate product, quote and master carton data using the company’s ERP system and other file server locations.
  10. Resolving product and/or commercial issues relating to customer orders.
  11. Facilitating and attending UK sourcing & product development visits.
  12. Preparing management reports.
    1. New vendor / sourcing status.
    2. Product development status.

 

Skills & Attributes.

 

  • A good understanding of Toy industry sourcing. At least 5 years sourcing experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin & English.
  • Highly organised with an attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware with good negotiation skills. Ability to influence and persuade others.
  • An excellent team player with a positive, helpful nature; a can-do attitude and ability to understand and resolve problems.
  • A robust and resilient character; willing to accept a challenge and capable of working towards company objectives in a patient but determined way.
  • An improvement mindset - open to change and confident to propose new ideas.
  • An objective mindset. Ability to empathise with vendor requirements but with the strength of character to challenge and exercise independent thought that is in the best interests of the Addo / vendor relationship.
  • Hardworking with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines when required.
  • The ability to travel extensively within China and possibly South East Asia.
