Job Description

 

The Director of Trade Lanes is responsible for the overall volume and gross profit growth for the entire Trade Lanes team of the Country and responsible to develop and increase gross profit and market share for each Trade Lane through aggressive sales efforts of existing and new customers.

 

The DTL provides sales support, innovative, integrated customer solutions throughout the supply chain and will cooperate with the Field Sales Team, Global and Multinational Account Team and Vertical team on opportunities relevant to the Trade Lanes assigned

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Managing a team of TLDs and RDMs strategically located in the country.
  • Develop with Product new services to increase volumes and GP
  • Identify top opportunities (top opportunity = great impact on volumes/GP) to pursue directly or with the team.
  • Monthly reporting of sales activity of the team.
  • Responsible for the overall profitability of the Tradelanes and for route pipelines at national level
  • Organize functions for customers on specific route, campaigns or projects
  • Prepare and present quarterly action plan and progress report to the VP of Sales
  • Develop new business through active sales
  • Provide accurate revenue projections for each pursuit
  • Conduct research on all target accounts to ensure they fit into the subsidiary business model
  • Develop and execute an account development plan to penetrate and execute utilizing the JAS network resources for support as needed
  • Engage in Product, local and Executive management as need to close opportunities
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the company
  • Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships
  • Through collaboration with senior management ensure strict compliance of policies and procedures
  • Provide sales leadership and strategic planning for the team
  • Lead and motivate entire team to achieve required gross profit and volume growth
  • Actively participate in aggressive sales and skills training and/or any other company sponsored sales meeting as indicated by management
  • Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Sales Policy
  • Must be a super user of our CRM system
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited four year college or university or equivalent
  • Experience dealing with Trade Lanes
  • Minimum of 5 years sales management experience in the logistics industry
  • Previous P&L experience desired
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong negotiating and excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Able to travel extensive domestically and internationally
