Our client is a local freight forward and logistic firm. They are looking for high caliber candidates for the positions of Operation Manager in the Hong Kong office at Shatin.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate rates for individual air and ocean shipments (import/export).
• Prepare cost quotations for freight transportation and respond to RFPs.
• Arrange for special transport of sensitive cargoes, such as dangerous, perishable, and/or high-value goods.
• Oversee shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure customer service effectiveness in maintaining communication with vendors, shippers, customers, carriers and overseas agents throughout the shipment process.
• Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers.
• Provide timely response to inquiries relating to job costing, shipment status, revisions, and invoices from agents, customers and carriers.
• Develop & promote business with off-shore agents and their clients.
• Oversee audits of vendor invoices (vs. negotiated rates) and routing accuracy to ensure company profitability.
• Train, guide and motivate ops staff to perform their daily duties and responsibilities.
• Assist with the settlement of disputed charges on vendor invoices.

Requirements:

• Specific knowledge or certification (IATA / IMDG) related to the transport of sensitive cargoes, such as dangerous, perishable, and/or high-value goods.
• Demonstrated expertise in the international forwarding process from door-to-door.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and Access.
• Good knowledge in Airfreight export.
• Experience or knowledge in E Commerce logistics.
• Knowledge of China freight logistics and customs regulations.
