Job Description

Buyer Level II

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager within the Global Purchasing Organization, this Buyer Level II will be responsible for the purchases from the assigned Asia suppliers to support the needs of the Omnicell productions in USA, and play a vital role to the team.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review MRP requirements etc. and be responsible for creating Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Stock Transfer Orders etc. and manage them till their closure
  • Effectively monitor open orders and PO deliveries to ensure material availability to production schedules and their changes
  • Maintain MAX/MIN levels with Kanban suppliers and monitor Kanban daily deliveries as needed
  • Work closely with Master Scheduler and monitor forecasts actively, publish to suppliers as needed
  • Work closely with Production Planning teams, monitor and resolve shortages by working with both suppliers and related internal departments
  • Resolve packing slip and/or invoice errors that prevent or delay receipt of goods or supplier payment
  • Communicate Material Review Form for First Article and/or non-conformance materials and process RMAs/RTVs with the suppliers
  • ECO management, Materials End of Life (EOL) management, project Excess and Obsolete mitigations and resolutions
  • Assist US buyers for other parts from Asia suppliers in expedite as needed
  • Conduct New Supplier Add processes to set up qualified new suppliers in SAP
  • Conduct RFQ/RFx processes with qualified suppliers
  • Evaluate quotations and make sound business decisions with supporting details for management approvals
  • Maintain Material Master and Info Record in SAP
  • Drive cost reductions with assigned suppliers and manage the implementations
  • Participation in preparation and presentation on the QBR, conduct business reviews for responsible areas and drive for continuous improvements
  • Support company projects including NPI, ISO etc. as needed
  • Maintains vendor relations and resolves issues as required, conduct supplier visits and/or audit as needed
  • Perform analytics and take appropriate actions, generate reports as requested by the management and/or other internal departments

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting or related fields required
  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing experiences in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experiences of purchasing from contract manufacturers and Kanban programs preferred
  • Product life cycle management knowledge and Skills required
  • Experiences of Production Planning, Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers required
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in both Mandarin and English required, Cantonese preferred
  • Quick adapter, open to changes and thrive in a changing environment
  • MRP system experiences required, preferably SAP
  • Experienced MS office (Excel/Word/PPT etc.) user required
  • APICS preferred, CPSM certification is a plus

Work Conditions:

Located in Hong Kong, Fixed Term Employee

  • Travel Required
  • Weekly travel to local China Suppliers (as needed or required)
  • Some International Travel
  • Overall less than 25% Travel requirement
