Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day business related to insurance related areas, including client relationship management at least at the beginning of career.
- Conduct due diligence for initial and on-going basis to make sure the product and product provider meets the standard set by the firm.
- Make recommendation to the superiors that enhances the efficiency, productivity, and control of the team.
- Market research (both top down and bottom up) using existing resources.
- Conduct the product training to the RM or other employees when necessary from time to time, with the help from external product providers.
- Close communication and interactions with different internal departments and external partners related to insurance business.
- Introduce, develop, and facilitate new products.
- Meet the quantitative (i.e. sales target) and qualitative target (i.e. new product development) related to relevant business areas.
- Maintain the competency required by HKMA, SFC, IA and other relevant regulatory bodies and ordinances.
- Comply with the applicable external and internal control requirements, and actively manage the risks associated with day-to-day business activities.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of combined working experience in the insurance/banking sector is a must. Detailed understanding over premium financing/policy financing is preferred.
- Qualification to act as an insurance agent is required (Non-Linked Long Term).
- The incumbent must adhere to the policy and procedures set by the bank, and Code of Conduct or similar standards set by Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”), Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”), and Insurance Authority (“IA”) at all times.
- The incumbent must understand the limitation of one can do with or without the authorization of its senior staffs, but should do its best to support the day-to-day business and contribute to certain project by bringing additional efficiency to the team.
- Be a self-starter when it comes to the relevant business coverage. In addition to meeting all the goals and instructions given by its superiors, one needs to proactively seek and embrace for any business opportunities.
- Quantitative and qualitative goals for the year shall be instructed by the head of Product Business Development Department. The goals may change, added, or withdrawn as the trajectory of the business changes over time.
- Need to have sufficient knowledge or relevant experience in financial product development area, particularly related to insurance and loans.
