Job Description
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT OFFICE
Assistant Facilities Manager (Ref. 19010705-E4)
Duties
The appointee will report to the Client Services Section in the area of campus control services and event management and be required to:
(a) assist in managing a team to provide services in campus control and event management to the University as well as cross functional support to major University events and activities;
(b) manage the Campus Control Centre to provide round-the-clock services (i.e. operating under 24-hour/ 7-day model);
(c) assist in achieving strategic objectives and goals, and arrange efficient deployment of resources to meet the goals;
(d) provide proactive support to handle emergency incidents and implement the crisis management procedures;
(e) nurture a customer-oriented culture internally to promote one-stop client-focused facilities management services;
(f) perform shift duties including working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays when necessary; and
(g) handle any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Facility Management, Security Management, Property Management or a related discipline;
(b) at least five years of relevant experience in risk management and facilities management preferably in tertiary institution, including safety and security management, crowd control, etc.;
(c) supervisory experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and operational staff in collaboration with clients, service contractors and other stakeholders; and
(d) excellent communication, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
Preference will be given to those with the experience in disciplinary force.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
