ACADEMY OF VISUAL ARTS

AVA is looking for a research assistant to support the cross-institutional research project “Enriching Senior Year Admitted Students’ Learning Experience through Curricular and Co-curricular Activities in Hong Kong’s Universities”.

The appointee will mainly assist a small research team in (a) conducting and coordinating quantitative and qualitative data collection activities in various scales; (b) supporting subsequent data compilations, analyses and reports/papers writing; (c) managing data from different projects/sources; (d) designing and adopting different research methodologies (both quantitative and qualitative); (e) supporting the provision of co-/extra-curricular activities to be provided for Senior Year Admitted students; and (f) supporting other activities related to this and potentially other research projects.

Applicants should have a good first degree or above in an appropriate subject discipline (e.g. in Statistics / Mathematics / Operations Management, or Sociology / Psychology). High proficiency with MS Excel and competence in using statistical analysis software packages such as SPSS are considered important. A proven track record of handling large data sets, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and/or relevant work experience after graduation will be considered favourably. The suitable appointee should be proactive, well-organized, detail-minded and have a strong sense of responsibility. Job rank will be considered based on qualification and/or experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to two years.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
