Job Description
We are looking for a Unix Administrator who will be responsible for configuring and maintaining a world-wide assortment of mission-critical UNIX systems running in-house custom applications in support of client’s manufacturing effort. Ideal candidate will have a wide ranging exposure and various level of experience with standard Unix technologies, the ability to independently prioritise multiple projects, and track record of timely execution using industry best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of UNIX/Linux system administration in large heterogeneous environments
- Unix system performance tuning and vulnerability hardening
- Deployment of standard web platforms including, but not limited to: Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL/Percona, FastCGI, mod_perl, Node.js
- Use of modern configuration management and automated infrastructure deployment tools (Puppet/Chef/Vagrant or similar)
- Proven track record of successfully maintaining high availability systems in multiple remote locations
- System and application log aggregation and analytics (syslogd/splunk)
- Strong understanding of various UNIX/Linux flavours (BSD, Mac OS X, RHEL, OEL)
- Strong understanding of Networking concepts (non-standard Subnet Masks, VLANing, Firewalling vs Layer 3 routing, etc)
- Solid understanding of enterprise-grade storage technologies (RAID, NAS, SAN, etc.)
- Unix shell scripting
- Strong aptitude for analysis and troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate well in English and Mandarin
- NEED TO TRAVEL TO CHINA and USA FREQUENTLY
