Finance Manager

Reports to : CFO

BSD Education provides project based Technology Education Curriculum for 8-18 year olds and comprehensive training and support for teachers. BSD’s curriculum can be implemented immediately with no prior experience and is mapped to US, IB and British academic standards. With curriculum for technology courses, all core subjects and after school and tech camps, BSD can be used by all teachers to give their students the essential technology skills and mindsets to succeed in the future.

KEY OBJECTIVES

A primary driver of the Finance function through contributing to the scalability of the business through organising financial processes to be a key enabler of all business functions and producing high quality management information, data and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Finance

• Be a key owner of the accounting systems.
• Liaise with Operational Finance assistants in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Philadelphia on day-to-day AR, AP and banking.
• Ensure compliance and internal controls are effective and ongoing.
• Ensure world class business partnerships with other functions.
• Be responsible for treasury management, ensure approval mechanisms and controls are being adhered to.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Actively manage the credit control process to ensure that debts are collected in a timely manner.

Accounting & Tax

• Be the primary point of contact for bookkeeping and financial advisors.
• Work with the CFO to develop and maintain financial controls, policies and processes to appropriate levels to reduce and manage risk.
• Ensure compliance with all required regulations and standards.
• Be involved in administering the corporate structure and company secretarial matters.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Own the budgeting process and work with key stakeholders to produce financial forecasts.
• Cash-flow forecasting.
• Analyse products, markets and channels to improve business understand of gross margin.
• Work with functional departments to build business analysis and reporting frameworks to improve business performance.
• Make suggestions based on analysis.
• Working with the CFO to consolidate management information into concise updates for investors.

Key Deliverables + performance contribution:

• Management Accounts by 2nd week of following month.
• Production of Management data for key stakeholders by required dates.

RELATIONSHIPS

• The position reports to the CFO with frequent interaction with other team members including CEO and Director of Sales.

SKILLS / EXPERTISE

Experienced accounts executive with a demonstrable track record of accounting and contribution to business analysis.

• At least 3 years experience
• Accounting qualification. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA
• Process mentality - building and leading processes, etc.
• ERP / Systems experience
• Appetite to work in a technology start-up
• Fluent English speaker
