Role

This role includes coordination and supervision of all Accounting, Treasury and Financial Planning activities, carried out in person and with the Finance and Treasury team.  The role also includes direct supervision of IT and Shipping Activities managed by specialized teams.

Key Responsibilities

Management:

• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the company and corporate management team
• Implement operational best practices
• Manage the relationship with corporate's Finance and Operations leads and teams to collaborate and coordinate in performing local and Corporate activities
• Assist in negotiating production and services contracts and their terms and conditions

 Financial Information and Operations:

• Personally oversee the financial operations performed in the accounting and the treasury departments
• Oversee the issuance of financial information and personally review and approve all statutory reporting and filings
• Report financial results to the board of directors

 Risk Management:

• Construct and monitor reliable control systems
• Oversee the extension of credit to customers
• Collaborate with the Corporate to maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
• Report risk issues to the board of directors
• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

 Funds Management:

• Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds
• Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
• Negotiate commercial and financial instruments such as letters of credit issued to manage production, purchase and sales contracts
• Maintain banking relationships

Budgeting and Planning:

• Manage company's Industrial Plan and Budget
• Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances

 Financial Analysis:

• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all G&A areas of the company
• Interpret the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities
• Compile key business metrics and report on them to management
• Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management
• Suggest improvements to the KPI and reporting system in order to have a better representation, understanding and interpretation of the company's business

 IT, through the IT Department:

• Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
• Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
• Assist IT manager in analying the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Coordinate and provide guidance to the IT manager
• Control budget and report on expenditure
• Contribute in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

 Shipping Operations: Through Shipping Department

• Coordinate and provide guidance to the Shipping Department manager
• Oversee export operations carried out in an efficient and effective way by the Shipping Department
• Manage financial and currency processes and transactions required by commercial and shipping commitments
• Ensure that communications with export authorities, customers, suppliers and Corporate Operations planning department is prompt, regular, complete and satisfactory
• Assist the Shipping Manager in managing relationships and addressing issues with customers, GP Group subsidiaries, suppliers and logistic service providers.

Requirement 

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
• Preferably a professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
• At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in accounting or related fields with 3 years solid team management experiences
• Experience in sourcing operations is preferable, such as direct management of shipping team and export activities
• Strong analytical mind, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• With a positive attitude, proactive and highly self-motivated
• A good command of both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua
