Job Description

ENGLISH LANGUAGE CENTRE

Project Associate (Ref. 18122701)
[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project – “Developing a PolyU-Stanford adaptive learning online platform for English and exploratory adaptive assessment for science subjects”.  He/She will be required to:  

(a)    analyse common language errors in learner corpora;

(b)    write learning materials for an online platform;

(c)    produce teaching/learning videos;

(d)    conduct data analysis;

(e)    provide administrative and secretarial support;  

(f)    draft project reports; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a master’s degree or a good honours degree in Applied Linguistics or related disciplines with three years or more of relevant work experience;

(b)    native-speaker level of English language;

(c)    effective communication skills; and

(d)    proven experience in producing English language learning materials.

Preference will be given to native English speaker and/or those with experience in producing online learning materials.
