Job Duties:

  • Lead the professional team to provide market-driven applied R&D, technology consultancy and commercialization, deliver and manage projects relating to Surface Technology, Novel Materials Testing & Analysis, Smart Display Technology, and Micro-fabrication, etc.
  • Understand the industry needs and requirements from various sectors in order to formulate proposal for industry-wide deployment
  • Develop and market applied R&D services in, create new business opportunities pertinent to industry needs in both Hong Kong and Mainland
  • Manage the Materials Testing laboratory and business in materials analysis, and develop new testing services; maintain HOKLAS accreditation
  • Establish and maintain strong network to strengthen the partnership between the HKPC, the academia and the industries and continuously manage and enhance excellent customer relationship
  • Provide leadership and guidance to continuously upgrade the team’s technical capabilities and build sustainable model to achieve financial and non-financial performance through a balanced business portfolio and business execution

 

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Materials Science and Chemistry disciplines or equivalent with 15 years or more working experience; Doctorate Degree preferred with 10 years or more experience
  • 5 years’ solid technical and managerial experience at senior positions in a sizable organizations
  • Rich industrial and manufacturing experience and familiar with surface engineering techniques, such as coating, plasma treatment and surface morphology, novel materials processing and applications
  • Proven track record in new product introduction, technology localization & commercialization, new technology development and business development, etc.
  • Sound relationship with the industry, trade associations, professional bodies and research institutes in Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas
  • Good business acumen and strong leadership competencies
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
