Job Posting Details

The Center for Global & Community Engagement (GCE) under the School of Engineering aims to broaden HKUST students’ international exposure, engage them in making contributions to the community as well as create and facilitate educational and leadership opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in international competitions and to utilize their engineering knowledge and technology knowhow innovatively in projects contributing to the society.

The objectives of the GCE are to prepare the students with the knowledge, tools and experiences to develop shared global and community connection, nurture social awareness and responsibility, and work towards the goal of benefitting both the students and the community.

GCE offers student-oriented enrichment opportunities in various forms, including local and overseas design competitions, services targeted at local community, and activities allied with professional institutions for promoting engineering. GCE also provides experiential learning experiences such as the Underwater Robot Competition and the diversity-renowned HKUST Robotics Team to students from all disciplines who are eager to learn and face challenges.

The appointee will assist in the coordination, delivery, planning and implementation of programs, as well as administrative duties of the activities organized by the GCE.Duties include assisting in the community engagement projects; facilitating student learning both individually and in teams; and designing appropriate assessment tools to evaluate students’ level of achievements in activities.

Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree and those with relevant experience in engineering/community projects and/or administrative works are preferred. Candidates should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. The appointee will be required to work outside normal office hours and perform other duties as assigned. (Duration: 1-2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract.
