Associate Engineer (Ref. 19012109-E3)

Duties

The appointee will join the Electronics and Intelligent Automation Stream and be required to:

(a) undertake hands-on learning and teaching activities at degree and sub-degree levels including student projects;

(b) assist in teaching and learning programme planning, design and administration, as well as preparation of hands-on learning, student projects and teaching materials;                    

(c) assist in R&D and consultancy activities;

(d) maintain workshop equipment and machines in good condition; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Industrial Centre or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechatronic and Automation Engineering or a related discipline plus not less than three years of relevant post-qualification experience;

(b) good hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains: SCADA and PLC system design, robotics and automation, Embedded System and Internet of Things;

(c) good experience in providing on-the-job training; and

(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a trade test in practical skills proficiency.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
