Job Description

Come work at the world’s most respected gemological laboratory as a Desktop Support Analyst in our GIA Hong Kong Laboratory located in Kowloon Bay Hong Kong. This position provides day-to-day technical support to employees for a range of hardware and software related systems. Assists in determining suitable software to meet user requirements. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop) computers.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to users’ problems, queries or complaints.
  • Diagnoses problems by engaging users, gathering information, and troubleshooting.
  • Resolves users’ problems effectively with timely fault rectification or problem escalation.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's desktops and laptops, using imaging and other solutions.
  • Assists in hardware and software evaluation and recommends upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure.
  • Assist with setting up technology for conferences/meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in related field, and 1+ year of related experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow standard procedures or instruction (proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in English required)
  • Self-motivated to meet customer needs
  • Approaches work in an organized and systematic manner
  • Technical knowledge in Windows desktop and laptop computers, ability to image and add / remove hardware components, printer setup, operation, troubleshooting, Windows 7 and Windows 10, virus protection software, software installation / removal, basic networking and cabling, MS Office 2010 or later, mobile device troubleshooting
