Executive Summary:

• One client is one of the key players in advanced technologies development in Hong Kong and Asia
• Report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer of the organization
• Key person to formulating strategies to identify partnership opportunities with global leading universities & research institutes.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead the university & institution partnership program to connect with renowned universities and research institutes worldwide with objectives to create and bring in commercialization and entrepreneurship opportunities
• Develop engagement strategies and execute the plans for prospect institutions and projects
• Build and maintain good relationships with high-tech companies, industry leaders, universities, institutions, start-up communities, incubators, government authorities, etc. to build the pipeline of business opportunities and facilitate partnership formation in Hong Kong
• Have good knowledge of innovation landscape, public and private funding mechanism, policies and practice
• Keep abreast of technology trends & other market intelligence and transform them into business opportunities
• Chair the marketing activities including delegation visits to promote the company as an innovation and technology organization
• Support other initiatives of the business development team and perform such other duties as assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer

Key Requirements:

• Holder of university degree preferably in Engineering- or Science-related subjects; post-graduate degree preferred;
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in new business development, of which at least 5 years in managerial level;
• Business network within both technologies and academic worlds is a strong plus
• Prior Experience in working in universities is a definite advantage
• Extensive network with high-tech companies, industries, especially with academia;
• A deep understanding of the global technology landscape; A vision for emerging technologies and experienced in technology transfer/ commercialization of Biomedical Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Smart City, Fintech, Advanced Materials Manufacturing is desirable;
• Knowledgeable about government policies and incentives for I&T development
• Strong business acumen and leadership skills with excellent command of spoken/written English and Mandarin;
• Personal attributes: versatile and dynamic, mature and entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal & influencing skills; passionate with can-do attitude;
