Job description

• Lead and grow a team of skilled data scientists and data analysts.
• Collect requirements from internal and external users through various means including but not limited to questionnaires, surveys, and interview.
• Collaborate and work tightly with the product development team to create, enhance and manage the data system for the platform.
• Oversee and ensure the output quality of the data team, including validation of methodology and techniques used and overall integrity of the data.
• Create and refine data models to handle large volumes of data.
• Develop predictive data-driven services by leveraging machine learning techniques.
• Adopt best practices in data management and security, ensure compliance with HKSAR's PDPO, and possess a working knowledge of EU’s GDPR.
• Pro-actively engage in data discovery to uncover insights obtained from data acquired through the platform.
• Present regular reports based on KPI and findings based on data discovery methods to management.

Job requirement

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a quantitative discipline such as Applied Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience developing software applications with languages such as R, Python, Java, Scala, C, among others. Knowledge of SDLC and experience with developing scalable and robust enterprise applications will be considered a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience in leading software engineering or big data initiatives.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial or team leader role.
• Strong knowledge of database systems, particularly with SQL in association with data transformation, data investigation, and reporting.
• Proficient with cloud-based big data technologies.
• Solid story-telling and presentation skills, with the ability to make deep data topics comprehensible to a non-technical audience.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools like Tableau, and able to leverage these tools to transform data into stunning and easy-to-understand visualizations.
• Prior experience with geolocation data and / or retail-centric analysis is a plus.
