Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the delivery of actuarial outputs (this includes production and analysis of actuarial results, investigations and actuarial modeling) across various metrics (e.g. Solvency II, IFRS, EV), to required level of accuracy, following Group and Professional quality and control standards and delivering to the agreed timescales.
• Manage the production of the new business results by following established processes, ensuring results are delivered on time, and providing appropriate analysis to support MI and business planning.
• Monitor trends and ensure new business results emerge in line with expectations, and any divergences are investigated and fed back through into the product development process.
• Maintain and update relevant process, models and spreadsheets with management guidance.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects as required, e.g. reinsurance management, IFRS 17.
• Engage with customers to proactively identify their needs and agree deliveries.
• With management support, ensure that work produced conforms to relevant team controls framework and Technical Actuarial Standards.
• Maintain close relationship within the wider Finance team to help in maintaining consistency between plan and actual financial results, and support the analysis of any variances from plan.

 Requirements:

• Nearly/ newly qualified actuary.
• Highly numerate and proven technical and analytical skills with knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS & EV being beneficial.
• Good problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Good communication skills and being able to articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Knowledge of Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Knowledge of actuarial modeling tools e.g. Prophet an advantage.
• Knowledge of HNW propositions an advantage.
• Potential to develop Leadership behaviours and progress to more senior roles.
• Proactive and receptive to change, a positive outlook and adherence to company values.
• Constructively challenge current practice and identify improvement opportunities.
• Previous working experience in Life Insurance.
