Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead your team of product technologists, and where applicable fabric technologists and quality controllers, in delivering excellent quality products through our direct sourcing supply base in your region
  • Understand and implement our Technical Vision within our the team and within our supply base
  • Establish effective and regular communication channels with your UK and Asia technical counterparts delivering an aligned Technical department globally
  • Contribute to the development of our brand standards, taking the lead in implementing them with our colleagues and the suppliers within your region
  • Take the lead in managing quality from the development cycle through to production with a rigorous process of risk assessment and product appraisal
  • Establish effective operating procedures with your merchandising counterparts with our teams work collaboratively in managing our key milestones within the critical path to ensure on time delivery
  • Support your merchandising counterparts in managing supplier performance through the use of our supplier scorecard
  • Implement and optimise our self-inspection program while managing robustly our use of third party inspections
  • Where relevant ensure our quality control team are efficiently directed towards areas of risk providing visibility to both product technologists and merchandising of progress and standards of production
  • Put in place procedures to drive continuous improvement in our sites quality management standards ensuring your team understand the strengths and limitations of, and visit, the sites they work with
  • Implement approval procedures that minimise duplication, making decisions at source where appropriate and identify opportunities to work more effectively through the use of technology
  • Be vigilant to customer returns data, addressing issues and incidents at pace through the proactive proposal of solutions
  • Support our local Ethical team in ensuring your sites maintain excellent standards in social compliance; understand the sustainability performance of your sites.
  • Support commercial counterparts in their use of open costing and through robust management of our nominated suppliers
  • Where relevant ensure your Fabric technologists support the delivery of our fabric management program and support the fabric innovation team locally; establish a local fabric library aligned to your UK library
  • Create a winning team that is engaged, motivated and developing through inspirational leadership that recognises talent

Requirements:

  • Relevant manufacturing / engineering post grad /degree is preferred
  • 10-15 years experience in relevant QA/QC discipline gained from sourcing, retail or manufacturing background preferably with UK retail operations
  • 3-5 years of management experience in a multinational corporation
  • Inspire and influence at all levels using a variety of styles
  • Support talent and develop colleagues to ensure strong succession plans are in place
  • Address complex and challenging situations by taking considered risks
  • Proactively provide solutions to close down issues at pace
  • Making good quality and timely decisions even in ambiguous situations using creative and logical thinking
  • Commercial awareness
  • Familiar with UK legislation and requirements
  • Fluently written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Independent & able to work autonomously
  • Willing & wants to be out in the field & travel
  • Strong team working ethic
  • A passion for making a difference for colleagues and customers
