Based in Hong Kong, the role of the Senior Manager/Director Sourcing is to provide leadership to the regional operations team to deliver products to our customers, maintaining a strong focus on product quality and value. You will work closely with the category, merchandising, and design teams in cooperation with our global client base, and New York based team to ensure that the business is working with the best suppliers, at the best possible terms. The position has a large focus on complex Licensed Apparel production with very large SKU counts. The position is based in Hong Kong and reports to the CEO who is based in New York.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management of the Hong Kong and existing Shanghai operations offices, motivating and leading a team of supply chain professionals
• Maintain, train and manage the supplier base’s controls over licensed product development and manufacturing
• Communicate with customers global offices for daily follow-up of sourcing, development and order management
• Maintain a detailed understanding of product and capacity needs; establish sourcing initiatives that support the ongoing business strategy and requirements of our clients
• Provide strategic guidance and direction to ensure cost and product delivery within the various products pipelines
• Review and refine annual and seasonal forecasting for each category and customer
• Create and manage cost analysis reports, and order allocation reports, review these data with the senior management team on a regular basis
• Maintain and manage reports for Licensed product and all manufacturing
• Identify and partner with a diverse base of vendors to deliver high-quality product in China and throughout Asia
• Lead Supplier Development projects focusing on efficiency improvements, cost reduction through waste elimination and quality defect reductions
• Oversee Sr. Quality Control and Assurance Managers on long range sourcing strategy and upcoming product needs 
• Manage key supplier relationships including maintaining regular contact with current suppliers and resolving ongoing issues as needed, including support of all Compliance requirements
• Provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure development needed to support the growth strategy
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric construction and manufacturing
• Work with the supplier base to manage the oversight of licensed manufacturing for our customers, it will be important to have an understanding of licensing and its implications from a manufacturing perspective
• Establish strong relationships with suppliers, customers and employees and establishing proven results in optimizing value across these relationships
• Understanding of manufacturing and planning processes
• Understand the technology direction of industry and industry capacity
• Solid working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, quality and supplier management
• Extensive knowledge of EXEL.

Job Requirements

• 10 Years Global Sourcing & Production experience (licensed production experience will be highly valuable)
• People Management experience 
• Proficient in English and Mandarin (required)
• Undergraduate technical or business degree is required; advanced degree or MBA is preferred 
• Travel required as needed, percentage varies (China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Taiwan, US, etc.)
