Growth Acceleration and Consolidation
 
The Asia Pacific Region has been a growth market for Starbucks and is expected to continue this trend over our multi-year planning horizon. Given the changing retail environment and evolving consumer behaviors, we need to increase the speed of our innovation in both product and digital customer experiences to remain consumer relevant and to drive growth.
 
To facilitate this innovation acceleration, we recently made the decision to centralize marketing support for Asia Pacific to the region, moving several positions from Seattle to Hong Kong. As a result, we are recruiting to fill several open Product and Marketing positions in our Hong Kong office.

Job Summary and Mission 

This job contributes to Starbucks success by assisting in the implementation of integrated marketing plans and initiatives for a promotion, brand initiative, new platforms or category. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Summary of Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists with the development of marketing business plans, promotional recaps and creative briefs. May assist with the development of presentations for senior leadership. Prepares written communication materials such as creative & project briefs, workbook content, meeting recaps and project recommendations. Supports the development of cross-functional meeting agendas and distributes meeting minutes. May manage key internal communication repositories 
  • Implement qualitative and quantitative research provided by insights team or markets to develop key findings and recommended actions. Responds to market inquiries as appropriate.
  • May manage project timelines to deliver marketing programs and social media plan. May work with cross-functional partners to ensure the best available costs, terms and quality. Fosters cross-functional relationships with multiple business units, partners and customers.
  • May assist in the management of internal design teams, creative agencies, vendor relations, and serves as the primary vendor contact. Ensures that vendor agreements are honored in a timely and cost-effective manner. Resolves vendor conflicts and issues.
  • In partnership with manager, may lead the execution of a specific marketing program. May analyze marketing efforts through pre- and post-program reports.
  • May develop and manage tracking system for competitive information.
  • May support the management of annual marketing budget through invoice processing and tracking.

Summary of Experience 

  • Progressive Experience in marketing or advertising management  5+ years
  • Project management experience     2 years

Basic Qualifications

Basic qualifications for this role are:

  • Business Acumen: Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and change management processes
  • Strong communicator: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to confidently present objectives and desired outcomes to leadership and cross functional teams. Ability to influence, consult and negotiate without authority to get things done in a timely fashion. 
  • Project and process management skills: Ability to manage time and budget effectively, including balancing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Ability to identify or implement systems and process improvements. Self-initiating and results-oriented  
  • Cross-functional collaboration and leadership: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience leading and/or facilitating cross-functional or organizational groups. Ability to work cross-culturally in a matrix and dynamic organization
  • Organizational skills: Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to manage a diverse portfolio and balance multiple priorities.
  • Change management: Ability to work in a changing environment; comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Passionate, empathetic and an active listener with a “can-do” attitude
