Accountable for the development of merchandise strategies for growth, and execution of merchandise activities by achieving company objectives in terms of profitability, positioning, product range, quality and sales participation. This role encompasses the management of the Fresh Food and covers multi formats/brands.

The Job

• Manage the Fresh Food marketing mix – pricing policies, promotional tactics and product range offered to maximize Fresh Food sales & earnings in the different formats / brands.
• Improve the category management process particularly in areas of ranging, pricing, promotions and procurement.
• Lead the communication strategy with the marketing group to build trust with consumers & build brand equity for our Fresh Food business.
• Implement a space planning / category management principles to define range in our stores.
• Work with strategic suppliers to maximize sales & profitability.
• Comply & enforce all company polices and procedures regarding procurement.
• Execute all operational sales, margin & cost budgets
• Improve Fresh Food safety standards and product quality throughout the supply chain.
• Full compliance to all HKSAR regulations regarding the importation & sale of food products.
• Develop the fresh team to implement agreed future strategies & continuously improve on current benchmarked standards – service, quality, offer and financials.
• Contribute to the development of Company’s future business strategies.
• Act as a member of the Wellcome Management Committee

The Person

• University graduate
  
• Over 10 years food retail experience, with no less than 5 years at senior management level
• Have a passion for Fresh Foods and strong knowledge of local fresh market situation
• Strategic business thinking
• Proven leadership skills – aligning objectives, leading team & achieving results
• Customer-focused
• Result oriented and high level of commitment
