Responsible for managing/developing suppliers in Asia to meet the Intermatic growth strategies and bring new products to market, enhance existing products, and reduce costs, The Sourcing Specialist’s role will include the following responsibilities:

• Identify and qualify strategic sourcing partnerships for materials, components and turn-key products in China.

• Assess capabilities of suppliers and map those capabilities to Intermatic’s short and long term strategic and tactical needs.

• Work collaboratively with internal functions and external suppliers to qualify requirements, timing and scope of bringing new products and product enhancements to market.

• Identify and lead cost savings and quality improvement initiatives for assigned products and materials.

• Develop measure and manage supplier performance metrics and goals to assist in supplier development and continuous supply/supplier improvement.

• Build strong partnerships with key suppliers and leverage those relationships for win/win sourcing performance.

• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and implement supplier agreements to eliminate risk and stabilize the supplier base.

• Lead supplier onboarding (and exit) activities including training, coordination, communication and other mission critical initiatives to obtain smooth and seamless start-ups, transitions and exits.

Education and/or experience:

• Position requires a BA/BS degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or other related field.

• Requires 3-5 years’ experience in sourcing.

• Experience working with electronic and mechanical products in a quality focused environment is a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the proven ability to work cross functionally and with multiple suppliers in a fast paced, multi-task environment.

• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
