Job Description

The Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) is a non-statutory advisory committee which has been set up since 1990.  It aims at promoting public awareness of environmental issues and encouraging the public to contribute actively towards a better environment.

Application is now invited by the ECC Secretariat for the following post -

Project Officer (PO)

(Salary: $24,325 per month; 15% gratuity of the total salary upon satisfactory completion of the contract.)

Closing Date of Application: 13 February 2019 (Wednesday)

Job Requirements: Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  Candidates should have

(a) a bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent;

(b) attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);

(c) at least 1 year post-qualification relevant experience, preferably in the field of publicity, communications, public relations, funding management, administrative or environmental education;

(d) proficiency in common business applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and applications in video editing (e.g. Windows Live Movie Maker) and promotional material design (e.g. Adobe PhotoShop);and

(e) strong organisational and analytical power, with excellent command of English and Chinese.

Duties of PO:

(a) To vet funding applications, monitor the funded projects, perform site inspections, and process the related project progress/completion reports/payments;

(b) To plan, organise and coordinate events and activities including seminars,ceremonies and visits;

(c) To handle duties related to publicity and promotion;

(d) To monitor the integrity and accuracy of databases and websites, and prepare statistical reports and returns;

(e) To provide logistics support to the operations of the ECC and its sub-committees; and

(f) To handle accounting and personnel matters, etc.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will normally be employed on contract terms for a period of one yearRenewal of contract will be subject to operational needs and satisfactory performance of candidates.
