Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education.
• Applicants must have a PGCE in Special Education or equivalent Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Native-level proficiency of English speaking, reading and writing applicants only.
• Experience in Upper Primary and Middle School will receive special consideration

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Provide academic, social-emotional and behavioral support as required for individual students in one of the following modes: a small group in class (push in), small group stand-alone class (pull-out) instruction and/or arrange for extension/follow up activities.
• Observe, assess, write and implement the Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students.
• Attend, participate and collaborate in goal setting, grade cluster, faculty and/or transition meetings for incoming/outgoing students.
• Use evidence-based strategies to collect, record, report data, and implement strategies for both academic and behavior support plans.
• Provide regular ongoing communication with parents, teachers, and admin regarding student progress.
• Schedule and/or attend, IEP meetings, Parent-Teacher Conferences and update reports and IEP’s as required in your role.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Inclusive Education, Coordinators and School Administration. In addition to your normal duties, you are expected to perform, without additional compensation, such reasonable non-academic and extracurricular staff duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Classroom Teacher, THS or the School administration.

 

TEFL or TESOL certification is not equivalent to Degree and Certification in Special Education and will not qualify you to teach at our school. Only applicants who are eligible to teach given the appropriate credentials will be considered.
