Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • assist in the administration, maintenance and enhancement of the integrated library system, discovery services, and RFID;
  • support the development and maintenance of library websites, in-house applications, digital projects and new initiatives;
  • assist in the support to the computer hardware and software in the Library, in collaboration with Information Technology Services Center of the University;
  • assist in administration and preparation of inventory, incident reports and statistical reports;
  • participate in library wide projects and services; and
  • provide general enquiry assistance at service counters.

 

Applicants should:

  • possess a recognized university degree or equivalent would be an advantage;
  • have good knowledge in computer skills, such as HTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, WordPress, and mobile technology etc.;
  • preferably have working knowledge with library integrated systems and discovery services, including but not limited to ExLibris Aleph, SFX and Primo Central;
  • preferably have knowledge in RFID technology and server administration of Linux and Windows; and
  • have good command of written and spoken both English and Chinese.

The appointee will be required to work shifts in evenings and weekend.  Experience of working in the tertiary education sector with qualification in computer science or information science will be an advantage.
