Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

The Admissions Officer directly reports to the Admissions Manager Principal and takes part in the for operating the Admissions process and Registrar function of the school.

In particular the Admissions Officer will be responsible for

  • providing information and guidance to prospective applicants and for enquiries on the application process and related requirements
  • scheduling, arranging and overseeing evaluations and tests in relation to applications in timely and efficient manner
  • maintaining up-to-date and accurate data and statistics regarding enquiries, applications, offers, acceptances, current students and other relevant records in the school databases
  • ensuring all aspects of the admissions function is kept in strict adherence to the Admission Policy of the school
  • supporting outgoing admission in accordance with the Student Transition policy
  • ensuring that all information provided and advice given is in accordance with the school brief and core messages
  • assisting Admissions Manager to produce reports and presentation
  • proactively handling every enquiry to an outcome to ensure ensuring that all enquiries are prioritised and followed-up promptly
  • ensuring that all target group enquiries are identified and actively encouraged to visit the school and to make an application
  • assisting in marketing events or campaigns
  • working closely with the marketing function to develop recruitment and outreach strategies for the school in line with the Admissions policy
  • ensuring that all aspects of the operation of the Admissions function are of a professional standard
  • providing an excellent customer service experience for all interactions including written communications with parents and prospective parents
  • maintaining a neat, organised and attractive presentation of the Admissions working and testing environments
  • providing an approachable and informative outward facing presence
  • maintaining and filing comprehensive and accurate documentation in accordance with the Admissions Policy
  • ensuring strict adherence to the school policy for handling and controlling monies
  • assisting with the staging of open days, outreach, networking and other related events to provide Admissions information and to encourage applications to the school
  • ensuring that all decisions and treatment of applications are dealt with fairly, accurately, confidentially and with proper consideration of all the facts and
  • assisting with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of Admissions from time to time.

Child Safeguarding:

Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to

  • Attend in-house Child Safeguarding programmes
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students in the school
  • Report to the Child Protection Officer any concerns they have for the welfare of a student. This may include unsafe practices witnessed within the school as outlined in the school’s Whistleblowing Policy
  • Keep professional relationships with students where personal boundaries are respected and maintained
  • Seek advice from a Line Manager or Child Protection Officer with issues or concerns related to Child Safeguarding

  • Satisfactory Hong Kong Police Criminal Record check
  • Confirmation of identity (Passport/HK ID card)
  • Satisfactory references
  • Verification of qualifications and work experience
