Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Manage hazardous materials (biological, chemical, radiological, and/or physical) in Science Park to ensure all hazardous materials at any point in their life-cycle are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Develop policy, guidelines, programs and provide training for handling of hazardous materials and responding to HazMat emergencies and incidents in laboratories;
  • Liaison with government agencies for various chemical safety issues to ensure all chemicals involved in Science Park are conform to legal requirements;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Bachelor degree in Science, Engineering or other related disciplines;
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant working experience in hazardous materials management preferably in multi-disciplined research institution. Candidates with at least 6 years’ at supervisory level would be an advantages;
  • Conversant in International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code; GHS; and Local Regulations on Dangerous Goods, Radioactive Substances, Biological and Clinical agents and etc.;
  • Membership in relevant professional institute is preferable;
  • Knowledge in database management system and applications is preferable;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
