Our client is a renowned regional bank, to cope with their business expansion, they are currently hiring a Database Specialist to join their IT team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for documentation, installation, administration, scripting, change management, performance monitoring/tuning, backup/recovery, problem troubleshooting and patch/software upgrade;
• Act as bank-wide database specialist for Oracle and SQLServer in Unix and Windows environments;
• Work closely with system teams for impact analysis and development work on related projects, including system/software upgrade, security patching and database activities monitoring;
• Provide support and implementation work to application teams on requests including database setup, schema changes and SQL performance analysis; and
• Provide production support and scheduled maintenance work.

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Computer Science or related disciplines;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as database administrator/specialist, with hands-on experience in Oracle 11G/12C RAC architecture in Unix environments is a must;
• Hands-on programming skills on Unix shell, Perl, PL/SQL and Powershell scripting;
• Working experience in SQLServer 2008 or above with Windows clustering;
• Proactive and independent to communicate with supporting teams, work on assigned projects, monitor on database events and troubleshoot on issues to meet timeline and service standards; and
• Holder of OCP/OCM/MCDBA and experience in ER diagram, data warehouses, backup utilities like Netbackup, Websphere or AIX platform is an advantage.
