We are currently looking for a well-organized and motivated individual to join our marine team based in Hong Kong.

The marine assistant underwriter shall provide underwriting, responsive local claims support, local/network servicing and administration of our International Marine Insurance Programmes.

You should possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.  You will be provided with training and guidance in developing your underwriting and claim rationale and becoming an experienced member of the team.

The successful marine assistant underwriter will be provided with opportunities to have overseas trainings and participated in inter-departmental meetings whenever required.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Handling a portfolio of renewal and new business of International Marine Cargo Insurance Programmes.
• Communicating with HDI Producing Offices, our network partners in Asia, our clients and brokers.
• Monitoring pending renewals and claims, tracking and updating progress
• Administrative support and maintain efficient documentation and filing systems in the department
• Operational support to ensure continue quality improvement and efficient departmental operations
• Any other ad hoc tasks as assigned

Required Profile:

• A Diploma/University degree from any discipline;
• 1-2 years’ experience in insurance industry &/or marine knowledge preferable;
• Strong communication skills demonstrated in current role;
• Fluent spoken and written Cantonese and Mandarin as well as English;
• Willing to learn and grow with a leading European Industrial Insurer.
