Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage accounting and reporting activities ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records in accordance with internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records to meet business needs.
  • Oversee the production of reports and accounts ensuring accurate reporting and Management Information in line with respective timescales.
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
  • Contribute and manage the refinement of process, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of accounting activities.
  • Contribute to the development of team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Coach junior team members on accounting knowledge/skills in order to complete their daily work tasks.

 

Requirements: 

  • 7 years' experience in an accounting and financial role. Previous experience in non-life insurance industry is a definite advantage.
  • Holder of recognized accounting qualification.
  • Significant experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • In depth understanding of best practice accounting (HKFRS).
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent data analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate and work flexibly with others.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
