Responsibilities:

• Responsible for fabric development, sourcing and price comparisons
• Work closely with Design, Sales, & Merchandising teams to understand customer needs, requirements, and overall market trends on fabric
• Identify potential savings opportunities and support cost savings initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and source new vendors as needed
• Analyse, evaluate and improve vendors’ capabilities and performance. Expands vendor base when appropriate
• Keep updated on new fabric market trends
• Source and develop fabric including the management of sample ordering and fabric testing
• Manage lead-time negotiations along with regular trouble shooting on issues such as deliveries and quality

Requirements:

• 7 years working experience as textile sourcing manager with a U.S. buying office, design studio, or manufacturer, specializing in textiles or textile based products
  
• Fabric construction expertise required
• Successful relationship history with suppliers to ensure prompt development of samples and correct interpretation of textile specifications
• Able to manage entire fabric sourcing development and delivery process
• Must be fluent in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Proactive, energetic team player with positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented and technically efficient
• China travel required
