Job Description

Experience and Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in merchandising, marketing or product management for consumer hardlines such as sporting goods, kitchen appliances, outdoor barbecue grills or garden equipment in the North American market
  • Strong analytical ability, well organized and superior attention to detail
  • Proven ability to conceptualize differentiated product offerings for multiple customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as capability to interact effectively with USA sales team and customer’s buying office
  • Knowledge of metal forming and coating manufacturing processes is a strong plus
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • University / College graduate with major in engineering / Quality controlling is preferred
  • Reports directly to General Manager, Products and Accounts
  • Travels China is required
  • Position is immediately available
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for a position as Product Executive

Responsibilities

  • Manages the merchandising and product development timeline cycle from sample development, costing analysis, product sourcing, tooling release, 3rd party lab product testing and golden sample approval all the way until first lot production
  • Works closely with R&D team, USA designer and USA sales staff to develop new products
  • Develops, documents, organizes and maintains product specifications that meet customer’s quality, value and performance requirements
  • Works with sourcing team and factories to analyse and optimize product costs
  • Resolves critical issues arising from merchandising, production work flow, product quality, reports from customers and shipment delivery utilizing a cross functional team approach
  • Ensures all prototypes, sales presentation samples, production samples as well as shipment samples are delivered on time and in accordance with customer’s requirements
  • Prepares customer offer sheets, product sales bulletins and other marketing related presentations
  • Works with graphic designer to develop and approve carton and point of purchase artwork
  • Support customer account and USA sales team
  • Provides leadership and trains team members to efficiently execute daily operations; provides guidance and feedback to support team members on resolving issues
