Key Purpose of the Job: 

As part of the Asia Materials Supply Team, the Senior Merchandiser of Material Supply – Wool Brands will support development and sourcing teams in the timely delivery of high quality materials on time and at the best value for the brands. The individual is responsible for facilitating the material development process and ensuring the bulk production process runs smoothly for the brands.  The Sr. Merchandiser will manage supplier’s performance on KPI in delivery and quality.  The individual will support and coordinate with product supply team for all material related issues

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Support seasonal fabric development with brand development teams to monitor the progress and ensure activities are on track with the development calendar
• Support sourcing team in seasonal product development with fabric information and manage activities to achieve cost, quality and delivery requirements of the brand
• Co-ordinate with brand materials team to plan for and participate in development trips with mills and suppliers
• Monitor lab dip approval process, color standard and specs distribution; ensure the color approval status not impact to bulk delivery
• Support managers in negotiation in price, lead time and minimum quantity with mills to achieve business needs
• Monitor development and bulk fabric testing status to ensure quality standard is being fulfilled; troubleshoot with mills all testing and certification issues and build solutions to meet deadlines
• Conduct fabric prebuild by getting sourcing team to provide necessary information. Communicate with mills to ensure latest forecast is provided with mills for bulk preparation and production capacity planning
• Follow up on greige goods availability and work closely with sourcing team to ensure our buy requirement is fulfilled.
• Conduct Material delivery KPI, building metrics to ensure a timely fabric delivery from fabric mills.

Major Requirements:

• Apparel or textile background – experience in wool merchandising a plus
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a brand or apparel company
• Solid team player with excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
• Proficient in Excel
• Willing to travel within Asia countries when required
