Role & responsibilities

•          Providing tax advice and tax effective solutions to Group businesses
•          Ensuring compliance with local tax regimes and with the Group’s code of conduct
•          Providing tax inputs on M&A projects and on group restructuring exercises
•          Identifying potential tax issues/problems and initiating corrective actions as required 
•          Updating tax developments in areas impacting Group businesses 
•          Managing and optimizing tax risks of the Group
•          Managing relationships with tax authorities and resolving tax disputes

The Jardine group is diverse and its needs are evolving and it is imperative that the person in this role embraces the opportunity to ensure the department continues to develop in order to safeguard the current and future economic value of Jardines.

You are likely to already be in a management position in a professional services firm and/or working in a complex and multinational organisation. You will have solid experience in taxation (12+ years’ experience), with at least 8 years in Big4 accounting firm.

You will also have good knowledge of taxation in major Asia Pacific countries and practical experience in dealing with tax issues in those jurisdictions. The ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation and interface with cross functional people in the group is essential, as is the ability to multi-task and manage projects.
