Job Description

Job Purpose:              

“To be responsible for key strategic financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. Provide leadership and coordination in the financial planning, accounting, reporting, compliance and commercial aspects of the Lane Crawford and associated companies.”

 

Key Accountabilities:

In addition to following Lane Crawford’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Financial Planning

  • To work with Chief Financial Officer to develop, manage and monitor the long term strategic and annual plan process to create an integrated business plan that brings to life the Lane Crawford Brand whilst maintaining and strengthening the brand positioning
  • To assist in the consolidation of the finance plan, by department, develop critical paths to ensure that there is not overload at specific times and review progress against agreed milestones
  • To ensure that all deliverables have a measurement tool in place to determine if the project objectives have been achieved

 

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • To take a leading role in the annual plan and budget process for the company, ensuring timelines are met and targets agreed
  • To coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, routine and ad-hoc analyses, annual budget, profit forecast and management accounting reports
  • To interact with CBO and other departments to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, performance reports on sales & inventories, and recommendations
  • To analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders.
  • To develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
  • To identify gaps between monthly forecasted results and targets, make recommendations to ensure Company financial goals are achieved
  • To develop and direct the implementation of strategic, operational and tax plans
  • To set up timely and accurate reporting systems which provide relevant information to the key stakeholders

  • To understand and interpret business trends and provide financial insight to help the company make decisions at senior level
  • To analyse new market places from a financial perspective and work closely with Chief Financial Officer to identify opportunities for extension of footprint, brands etc in HK, China and other markets
  • To lead and prepare management accounting reports, routine and ad-hoc analyses, annual budget, long term financial/ business plans, and profit forecast.
  • To drive process synergies between Hong Kong and China, and work closely with regional and local finance teams on regular reporting.
  • To develop and implement finance, accounting, trade payments, and auditing procedures from Group perspective and audit regional offices on regular basis.

 

Compliance and Commercial

  • To ensure that financial practices are sound and in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and prevailing legislation as well as company guidelines, policies and procedures
  • To prepare financial statements in compliance with relevant reporting, accounting standards and taxation requirements
  • To help to liaise with bankers, auditors, lawyers and relevant local PRC government authorities as and required
  • To establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards on the Company’s assets
  • To ensures all trade payments are made on time and that suppliers are treated with integrity
  • To oversee all operations policies and ensure no conflict of interest
  • To oversee the payroll function, administration and legislative compliance of MPF Scheme and Lane Crawford Provident Fund Scheme
  • To ensure regional offices and all relevant departments understand and are complying with the procedures and policies set

 

Financial Systems, Business Process Management and Procedures

  • To coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the Company
  • To ensure all systems and data processing tools have integrity built into them
  • To establish and implement short and long range finance department goals, objectives and policies
  • To put in place procedures to control, monitor expenses and manpower requirements to ensure each department operates within agreed budgets
  • To lead the team to review and streamline operating procedures from end to end for benefit of LC group.
  • To interact and work with other departments to implement new operating procedures set and audit as and when necessary
  • To work with ILT to develop new business process to align with company’s long-term vision.
  • To work with technology dept before rolling out of new IT systems to ensure they are sound and comply with policies set

 

Treasury

  • To liaise with bankers, auditors, lawyers and relevant local PRC government authorities as required
