Engineering Manager (Ref. 19022112-E3)

Duties

The appointee will join the Building Services, Construction and Safety Stream and be responsible for leading the team to provide quality teaching/hands-on learning programmes in engineering design and communication as well as to undertake and provide supporting services for research and industrial projects.

The appointee will be required to:

(a) formulate Stream development strategies and participate in Stream management;

(b) undertake technological development of the Stream;

(c) lead and undertake teaching and hands-on learning subjects at degree and sub-degree levels including preparation of teaching materials and supervision of student projects;

(d) undertake teaching and learning programme design, development and administration;

(e) undertake R&D and consultancy activities; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Industrial Centre or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Construction Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) at least eight years of work experience in building and construction and with solid supervisory experience;

(c) a good knowledge of modular construction, BIM and NDT applications in the field of building and construction; and

(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and preferably with fluency in Putonghua.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
