Job Description

Leading the product development process of all Mondottica Group´s Brands, this role oversees and is accountable for the delivery of prototypes and samples from design drawings, within price and design specification for Brand approval, and subsequent tendering and production by the Supply Chain Director.

 

A key role within the collaborative process to deliver product from concept to warehouse, working closely with the Design Director and the Supply Chain Director.

5+ years working in the eyewear field, good communication skills in English, -Attractive remuneration and fringe benefits

 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to fully understand design drawings, specifications and product and pricing briefs, and effectively manage the product development cycle from brief/design through to sample development, on timewithin the agreed margin parameters and at the required value and quality.  product delivery cycle.
  • Evaluate materials and technical specifications to deliver product samples in the most cost-efficient way.
  • Evaluate the knowledge, creativity and technical capability of vendors to ensure product sample delivery, quality, value and cost.
  • Collaborate with internal demand and supply chain team to provide a range of suppliers, that can handle our complexity and scalability.

 

  • Plan, negotiate and execute favourable pricing and delivery conditions with vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and build our team of Product Managers.
  • Review the product sample/prototype production process to recommend and implement changes to deliver efficiency, value and margin.
  • Understand and ensure delivery of the quality standards and requirements of our products, and perform inline inspections to share best practise knowledge, when reqiered.
  • Keep up to date on industry changes, production tools, techniques and materials to feedback and share innovations with internal teams.

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications required:

  • Significant experience 10+ years in the Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing or related field; ideal candidate will have experience within the eyewear industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing or related fields

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Significant and proven knowledge of product, manufacturing production process & cost management for eyewear sector
  • Knowledge of colors and materials for eyewear sector
  • Leadership and team management skills to drive performance and accountability.
  • Ability to work across and collaborate with multiple teams, geographies and cultures, bringing together work flows and ensuring alignment on end delivery. 
  • Proven project management skills within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers, being clear on business priorities and true to the Mondottica values.
