Job Description

Come work at the world’s most respected gemological laboratory as an Analytics Technician Trainee in our GIA Hong Kong Laboratory located in Central Hong Kong. Being an Analytics Technician Trainee you perform maintenance on instruments to ensure reliability in accordance with manufacturers and department specifications. You will also collect and supply high quality data to the gemological staff in accordance with Laboratory protocols while getting the opportunity to learn and understand the concepts behind each instrument used by GIA to examine a wide variety of gemstones.

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Scientific field (chemistry, physics, or geology preferred);
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and commitment to continuous refinement of job skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and good concentration skills;
  • Ability to get along and work as a team with a diverse group of individuals;
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with a microscope;
  • Experience with spectroscopy, chemical analysis instruments, and/or statistical analysis is a plus;
  • Experience with gemological instruments is also a plus;
