Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The aim of the Assistant Operations Manager is to assist to ensure excellent operational performance which will be measured through a set of KPIs. This is achieved by the implementation of effective processes, working practices and monitoring compliance. The Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for managing orders to suppliers and products received, proactively checking quality and reliability. The Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for operational liaison with suppliers, customers, warehouses and logistics partners and will ensure the effective delivery of products in time, in full as per specification. The Assistant Operations Manager will help managing projects or programmes of work to implement new business and ensure effective service delivery.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Accountable for operational performance, quality and continuous improvement

• Accountable for order processing, demand & supply planning and liaison with suppliers, customers, warehouses and logistics partners

• Takes operational decisions within an agreed framework to ensure cost-effective service continuity

• Deliver supplier and operational reports ensuring KPIs are tracked, reviewed and corrective actions taken

• Ensures the design, documentation and daily operations in accordance with SOP

• Is part of the project team and helps with implementations to ensure an effective transition from concept to operation

• Assists in providing weekly/monthly reports for the senior management team

 

SUPERVISION

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Education & Experience:

• Educated to university degree level or equivalent

• Preferably 2 – 3 years of operational experience and knowledge of supply chain and logistics

• Understanding of or experience in the business of manufacturing and product delivery to local & overseas customers

• Customer Service or large/key account management experience an asset

• Experience in cold-chain is a plus

Skills:

• Numerate (to interpret and produce financial plans and reports)

• Good data, business analysis and reporting skills – literate and numerate

• PC literate including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Able to create processes and assists in managing projects

• Good communication skills, verbal & written in English and Chinese

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Able to work flexible working hours and willing to travel sometimes at short notice

• Must be fluent in English and Cantonese (and Mandarin an advantage)

• Able to live and work in Hong Kong
