JOB PURPOSE

To be responsible for supplying and analysing the Commercial and Financial activity via Performance Indicators derived from the Company’s business activities to senior management.

To support the Manager RPA in providing reporting, planning and analysis expertise for review with the Regional Finance Director Asia, the wider finance department and the regionally based Event Directors. The successful individual will strive to drive deeper analysis and insights across event budgets and forecasts, commercial KPI’s (financial and metric based) and work with the strategy analysts to ensure that the event budgets are aligned with the event product strategies and monthly KPI reporting clearly explains variances to event budgets key metrics.

The role is essential to supporting the RPA manger to deliver Group’s Financial & Event budgets and the wider Group budget and reforecasts that is key to informing the executive management team to enable them to make effective decisions on a timely basis. The role involves supporting, directing and challenging as necessary the investment cases and budgets prepared by the Event Directors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Manager RPA and the FP&A team in delivering the Group’s annual budget and reforecasts
  • Work with the Commercial Analyst(s) and local finance teams to prepare month end variance analysis commentary for full Commercial KPI’s, P&L, Cashflow and B/S.
  • Support local and Group finance teams to ensure efficient and in time month end closing and reporting
  • Review, analyse and challenge the event investment cases and budgets submitted by the Event Directors, before, during and after the Product Strategy event meetings
  • Provide support to the Event Directors, assisted by the regional finance teams, to ensure that the investment cases and budgets are completed in a consistent fashion, accurately and on a timely basis
  • Challenge and hold the business to account on budgets
  • Integrate the event-level investment cases and budgets into the Group’s budgeting and reforecasting cycle
  • Support the Manager RPA in deploying a process for ensuring events that “non-Core” events (i.e. those that do not require Product Strategy event meetings) are also integrated into the Group’s budgeting/reforecasting cycle and that budgets are prepared at the most appropriate time and to a sufficient level of detail
  • Support the Manager RPA in enforcing a process for approval of investment on next year’s non-Core events at the appropriate juncture in the absence of Product Strategy event meetings
  • Support Global implementation project to ensure Asia delivery is on time
  • Other ad hoc financial analysis as necessary


PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Experience & Knowledge - Essential

  • University degree with strong quantitative focus or equivalent, 2:1 or above
  • Experience of budget setting and/or challenging budgets set by others
  • Experience of working with overseas teams


Experience & Knowledge - Desirable

  • Experience of working in a Group FP&A team
  • Previous events/exhibitions business exposure
  • Multi-company and multi-currency experience
