Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain production, testing and development databases.
- Perform Database administration tasks eg. account/role, database objects maintenance.
- Install and Upgrade database and related software.
- Prepare production changes (e.g. installation, enhancement, bug fix), develop and test the procedures to ensure they are effective and recoverable.
- Prepare and update documentation on Database Configuration and Operations & Maintenance Manual for each system.
- Setup database availability and performance monitoring tools to continuously health check the database and provide information should diagnosis be necessary.
- Define database operation procedures. Provide solutions to databases related problems promptly so that high system availability can be achieved.
- Provide consultancy to application team in development and tuning of database programs.
- Conduct training to Operations staff to enable them to perform database operation duties independently.
Requirements:
- University degree in Computing or equivalent with at least 6 years IT experience. The recent 3 years must be an Oracle DBA supporting mission-critical non-stop databases.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle DBMS 12c or above running on Unix and Exadata platform. Experience in MS-SQL Server, DB2 will be an advantage.
- Practical experience in Oracle RAC, ASM and RMAN.
- Practical experience in database software maintenance, performance tuning, backup/recovery, capacity planning, monitoring, logical and physical data modeling.
- Experience in Meta Data management, Master Data management and Data Life Cycle management.
- Data access/interface design and experience in data replication tool, such as IBM InfoSphere is desired. Exposure to Data Governance, Data Lake and Big Data development preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
