Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the front-end development of the customer portal, utilizing your experience with enterprise NodeJS development.
• Able to analyse business intent of user stories and break this down into an understanding of what is required to develop this user story into functional code.
• Utilise JIRA to track development of user stories.
• Understand how to utilise a variety of APIs to integrate front-end customer code with backend IT systems.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings to update team on project progress and blockers.
• Contribute to overall architectural integrity of the customer portal - be proactive with suggestions on how to continuously improve the system.
• Maintain a focus on non-functional (performance, security) requirements as part of your coding.

Mandatory Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years' experience in enterprise application development, and in particular experience in NodeJS.
• Motivated self-starter, ability to hit the ground running and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Prior experience working in an Agile environment, with knowledge of rituals such as Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and retrospectives.
• Experience with use of JIRA, BitBucket, Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams for collaboration.
• Some working knowledge of DevOps concepts such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery is expected.
• Knowledge of the following product/technologies:
• Web: HTML, HTML5, Javascript, CSS3
• Front-end development: AJAX, RESTful JSON
• Back-end development:NodeJS, StrongLoop or HAPI
• OS: Linux, UNIX, Windows
• Network: some knowledge of networking (proxying/reverse proxying) is advantageous
• Knowledge of following is advantageous:
• AI: practical experience developing Chatbots using natural language processing capabilities would be highly regarded
