We are looking for a senior editor to help spearhead a leading English-language business magazine for a professional organisation read by more than 50,000 readers. The successful candidate will be involved in planning overall editorial direction as well as managing monthly execution; writing, commissioning and editing pieces to the highest standards; and working as part of an editorial, art and production team to create a constantly better product.

Responsibilities include:

• Helping to establish overall editorial direction for the magazine, then spearheading the monthly execution
• Developing, assigning, editing and approving pieces from in-house team and contributors
• Ensuring copy fulfils client's needs, and thoroughly adheres to in-house style guide
• Writing pieces that meet the highest standards of journalism
• Helping to lead the editorial team to create great work and develop their careers
• Overseeing the design to make sure copy and artwork go well together and is world class
• Overseeing the production planning to make sure the magazine goes to press to deadline
• Maintaining the highest editorial standards and ethics

Requirements:

• At least five years in an editorial role, preferably related to business and finance
• Exceptional writing and editing skills
• Proven instinct for a good story, as well as the storytelling ability to give a story legs
• Comprehensive knowledge of world business, Asia in particular
• Creative thinker, able to come up with new ideas and execute them
• Enthusiastic leader, with a track record of inspiring and managing the performance of a team and the growth of individual team members
• Thrives on deadline pressure
• Experience in or open to producing social media videos
• Driven to make each issue of a magazine better then the last, and to explore new media formats in an evolving media environment
