Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the appointee will be required to:

• Develop new research project ideas and prepare project proposals;
• Design projects with sponsors, researchers and the government;
• Undertake preliminary research/analysis of target technological areas;
• Monitor on-going R&D projects, including technical and financial aspects, other project administrative tasks, as well as preparing project updates and reports;
• Work closely with R&D researchers and personnel; coordinate with local and overseas universities, research institutions and business partners, and handle enquiries in a professional manner;
• Assist in R&D publicity events or programmes organised by the Institute; and
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• A recognised degree in Textiles and Clothing, Chemistry, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline;
• 5 or more years of work experience, with experience in R&D or textile or fashion related industry being an advantage;
• Highly-organized and capable of working under pressure with multi-task assignments;
• Innovative and willing to take creative risks;
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills;
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with a good command of Putonghua being an advantage; and
• Frequent overseas travelling is required.
