ELEVATE is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Front End Developer responsible for building WordPress sites and operating content management systems (CMS). While the primary focus will be front end development, full-stack capabilities (especially with Ruby) are a plus. The developer must be able to create WordPress themes and plugins. Technical skills including programming in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is of primary importance. Creative design skills and an appreciation of aesthetics are desirable.

The successful candidate should have some understanding of industry trends, CMSs, and responsive design. We are looking for a great attitude and avid learner who works well with teams. The candidate should have at least 1 – 3 years’ experience and will work alongside a senior UX developer. Individuals with more experience and the right skills mix are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be based in Hong Kong and be a part of ELEVATE’s growing IT team.

Responsibilities 

• In support of the senior UX developer lead, develop digital, web and SEO solutions that enhance lead and sales conversion, and contribute to the solutions eco-system
• Build, manage and maintain WordPress websites
• Develop structures, wireframes, designs and innovative ideas for digital deliverables aligned with ELEVATE’s brand standards
• Manage the Content Management System
• Back end development including deployment is preferred
• Formal SDLC capabilities are very desirable
• Close collaboration with company-wide stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Full Stack Developer (Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL) would be ideal
• Ability to write HTML5 and CSS3
• Good eye for design
• Knowledge of Adobe XD, Photoshop and Illustrator a plus
• An understanding of SEO principles; experience with SEMrush a plus  
• Experience with fully responsive layouts and cross browser compatibility testing
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
• Great team player with good communication skills
• A love of learning and a proactive problem-solver
• Have a basic understanding of pre-processing platforms - SASS
• Have confidence in writing JavaScript and familiarity with libraries such as jQuery

 Professional Experience

• 1-3 years (or more) of experience as a web developer
