Dynamics of the Role

Riding on the development of the Fintech industry in HK and the recent HKMA Smart Banking, Virtual Banking initiatives, TransUnion has launched a series of business solutions addressing some common industry challenges in the areas of risk management and regulatory compliance as well as enabling modern mobile customer experience.  We have gained a lot of tractions from the market since we launched the solution in 2017 and we are expanding our team in order to support the growth of the business and the ongoing enhancements of the solution. This position will be responsible for ensuring HK’s Identity and Fraud solutions are meeting revenue, profitability goals as well as business performance metrics that satisfy our clients. This includes being responsible for overseeing the defining, analyzing and writing of the business requirements for small to large product management projects. This position will understand the business and/or customer needs through research, usability studies and analyzing available data, as well as seek out new ways to augment this data.  This position will base strategic decisions through a defensible, metrics-driven approach based on ROI, market and customer feedback and analysis of the user experience. In addition, this position provides leadership and initiative within the unit by understanding the industry and its’ strategic direction.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Monitors and analyzes product key performance indicators, customer feedback, and the competitive landscape to identify gaps, weaknesses and opportunities in any part of the product delivery.
  • Prioritizes enhancements based on ROI and works with Project Management to develop release schedules and updates the product roadmap accordingly.
  • Manages Business Analysts in the creation of business requirements necessary to achieve the objectives of new enhancements and related product management projects which includes the development of process flow chart diagrams, use cases and user stories.
  • Analyzes the overall nature of the need in terms of feasibility, cost-effectiveness, usability, and practicality.
  • Meets with Director to provide recommendations and the necessary steps to achieve goals.  May be also required to develop project overviews, budget requirements, and other documentation necessary for a project to proceed..
  • Meets with Director to provide updates on projects.  Resolves any issues that may result.  Follows through on any suggestions and/or recommendations.  Participates in review sessions with internal departments.  Answers any questions and/or concerns as they occur.  Updates documentation to reflect any changes as they occur. 
  • Conducts user acceptance testing prior to enhancement and product launches.
  • Researches and analyzes the market directly and manages research vendors.
  • Continually monitors the process of the projects ensuring the information is clarified, issues resolved, and process follows previously established timeframes.
  • Following completion of projects, quantifies its impact on revenue, conversion, retention, and profitability.
  • Develops and communicates product strategy across the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • A Bachelor’s degree required in MIS, Computer Science or other related fields.  Requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Product Management and/or Business Analysis for mobile-based consumer facing applications or corporate business solutions.
  • The incumbent must also have a solid knowledge of the industry, business operations, and the integration of them in order to effectively develop work flow processes, determine the feasibility of the project through a business perspective, and communicate these needs to a technical staff. 
  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of machine learning and biometrics will be a big bonus.
  • Experience in digital account opening and transaction fraud or payment fraud experience will be a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication. 
  • Must be a problem solver with a ‘get it done’ attitude and strong self-motivated.  Ability to think innovatively and drive changes.  Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.  Has ability to seek opportunity with ambiguity
  • Programming experience, in specific to mobile development, R or Python is a bonus. 
  • Some travel required
