Job Description

Our client is a global insurance firm with a well-established client portfolio and network across APAC. An outstanding opportunity has arisen out of their HK Office for a seasoned actuarial professional to support the IFRS17 project.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for business planning, financial projections, financial analysis and budget monitoring.
  • Prophet modelling support of the actuarial functions, including new products, statutory reporting and Group reporting.
  • Provide accurate liability calculations in a timely manner in fulfilling statutory requirements and in compliance with Group / Regional Guidelines.
  • Perform investigation on the financial condition in respect of the Company’s long-term business including liability adequacy test, dynamic solvency testing (DST) per AGN7, and Group embedded value report.
  • Conduct experience studies regularly and ensure the actuarial assumptions are supported by emerged experiences.
  • Review pricing basis and assumptions are in line with valuation basis and assumptions; product illustrations are in compliance with regulatory guidance note.

 

Requirements: 

  • A University graduate with at least 6 years' experience in valuation and risk functions in insurance industry
  • A broad and comprehensive knowledge of life insurance products, financial reporting and risk management
  • Familiar with Hong Kong statutory valuation basis and embedded value reporting
  • A highly organized person with good coaching/ leadership skills and be able to work under own initiatives
  • Able to operate with day-to-day autonomy within a framework and deal with ambiguity and complexity in the daily operation 
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is essential
